Electric Whole Body Cryotherapy

POSSIBLE Benefits

What is Cryotherapy?

Cryotherapy is a treatment using sub-zero temperatures.  This science has been used for years by physicians using it for things such as wart removal. And, almost all of us have used it at some time when we put an ice pack on an injury.

Using this same science, people are starting to treat the entire body using Whole Body Cryotherapy(WBC).  During WBC you stand in a cryochamber for 2-3 minutes.  The temperature is typically around-100 degrees.    You will be cold, but it is for a short time, and no part of your body will be touching anything cold.  Just as the ice pack is treating inflammation, so is Whole Body Cryotherapy... except now you can target your entire body in only 3 minutes.  You might be cold- but your body will thank you!

What to expect

Cryotherapy is a treatment using either freezing or near freezing temperatures.  During this treatment you stand in a cryochamber for 2-6 minutes.  Most people will do this treatment for 2-3 minutes.  During this time you will wear minimal clothing.  For protection you must wear closed toed shoes, gloves, either headphones or earmuffs, and men must wear underwear.

FAQS

What is cryotherapy?

Cryotherapy is the use of cold temperatures to safely lower your skin's temperature resulting in a variety of health and wellness benefits.

Who should not do cryotherapy?

The following conditions are contraindicators: pregnant, have severe hypertension, acute or recent myocardial infarction, unstable angina pectoris, arrhythmia, symptomatic cardiovascular disease, cardiac pacemaker, peripheral arterial occlusive disease, venous thrombosis, acute or recent cerebrovascular accident, uncontrolled seizures, Raynaud's Syndrome, fever, tumor disease, symptomatic lung disorders, bleeding disorders, severe anemia, infection, cold allergy, acute kidney and urinary tract disease.

With any medical condition, please consult your doctor prior to use.

Is cryotherapy safe?

Cryotherapy chambers have been used for almost 40 years.  As long as safety precautions are followed then it is safe.  Make sure you go into the chamber with dry skin and clothes, and protect sensitive tissue by wearing dry socks and closed toed shoe/slippers, gloves, and men wear underwear.   The maximum time you should remain in chamber is 3 minutes.  Most people will be in for 2-3 minutes.

Is whole body cryotherapy comfortable?

You will dress in your level of comfort, along with all protective gear.  The treatment time is a short 2-3 minutes.  Many people start with a shorter amount of time and will work their way up to the 2-3 minutes as they become accustomed to the cold. The cold is dry, and nothing is touching your skin- which is significantly more comfortable than an ice bath.  You may feel a pins and needle sensation that will dissipate once you leave the chamber.

How do you feel after the treatment?

When you leave the cryochamber you feel energized and happy.

How long am I in the Cryotherapy chamber?

Generally people are in the chamber for 2-3 minutes.  You may choose to start with less than that and work your way up as your body adjusts.  You cannot stay in the chamber for more than 3 minutes.  Generally with getting dressed the overall service takes around 10 minutes.

How many treatments should i do?

At first you should do 2-3 sessions a week for the first month.  Then you can move to a maintenance phase that is at least 2-4 per month or higher depending on your goals.  Some people choose to practice cryotherapy daily.

Can minors use whole body cryotherapy?

Any minor between the ages of 14-15 must have parental/guardian consent and present during treatment.  Minors ages 16-17 will need parental/guardian consent prior to treatment, but they do no need to be present.

What do I wear?

You will be in your own private room, so you may dress to your level of comfort.  Some choose to wear no clothes (except men must wear underwear for protection), others wear their underwear and bra, or shorts/leggings and a tank top.  You must however, wear dry socks with closed toed shoes/slippers and gloves.

What do I need to bring?

We will provide gloves, earmuffs, and Bluetooth headphones for use during the session.  However you can bring your own items if desired.  We ask you to bring:
