Possible Benefits

What to Expect

When you arrive at your appointment we ask that you bring 2 towels and some water to keep yourself hydrated.  If you forget a towel we will have some for you to purchase.   When you get into the sauna you will place one towel down on the bench to help absorb your sweat, and use the other one as needed.  You will be in your own private room, so you may dress however you are comfortable.  You will be in the sauna for up to 30 minutes per session. The sauna temperature will range between 120-160 degrees.   While in the sauna you can sit back and relax, watch Netflix on the provided TV, read a book, listen to a podcast or music, or even set your tablet up on the tablet holder so you can catch up on your favorite shows.  Our saunas are able to hold up to 3 people, so you can also book your session with a friend.

Infrared Sauna Or Regular Sauna

It has been reported that in a traditional sauna the sweat is up to 97% water, while the sweat released in an infrared sauna was only 80-85% water.  15-20% of the sweat from a person in the infrared sauna was comprised of heavy metals, sulfuric acid, sodium, ammonia, uric acid and fat-soluble toxins.

FAQS

How hot is the Infrared Sauna?

You can choose your temperature in the sauna, ranging from around 120-160 degrees.

How long am I in the Infrared Sauna?

You will be in the Sauna for up to 30 minutes.  The overall time of service is about 45 minutes with getting dressed.

What should I bring?

You need to bring two towels to every sauna session.  One towel to sit on, and one towel for the ground in the sauna.  While in the sauna you will wear either loose fitting comforble clothes (think work out clothes), while some prefer to go in only the underware, or no clothes.  Whatever you want to wear, make sure you either wear it or bring it.

What do I wear?

You will be in your own private room with using your sauna.  You may dress to your comfort and preference.  Some people choose to wear workout type clothing, others wear underware or no clothes.

What do I do to prepare for using a sauna either before or after?

Most people do not drink enough water, and you are about to sweat out a lot of the water you do have in you.  So drink lots of water before, during, and after your sweat session.  It is also a good idea to use an electrolyte in your water either before or after your session.  Some things that help to get your lymphatic system moving to assist in detox and sweating while in the sauna, would be to use our vibration plate prior to going in or using a dry brush.

When you get home, you should shower to remove any toxins that are left behind on your skin.

What do I do while I am in the Sauna?

You can sit back and relax while listening to music or watching Netflix on our complimentary TV.  Some people choose to meditate, stretch, read, or even study for tests.  Studying while in a sauna has been shown to increase your ability to remember the information.

Can minors use the Sauna?

At The Wellness Bar we require all minors to have signed parental consent, and if under the age of 16 their parents need to be present.
